End of Season Thank You

We at KSC wish to thank all of you for coming out and jumping with us this year. We had a very good 5th season thanks to you all. The weather proved to be very good to us this year. This was our best season yet. We flew 107 more loads than last year! Who could ask for more? ... Well, I guess we could.

We also send our special gratitude to our staff; Chuck McElwee - TI & I, John McKenna - TI & C, Glenn King - TI, Jim Coughlin - C & Videographer & Packer, Ali Abdulatiff - Videographer & Packer, Christoph Streicher - Videographer, Tony Amato - Student Radio & Manifestor, Geoff Orlandi - Jump Pilot. We also wish to thank all guess instructors who's names we have not mentioned. I think we all owe our DZ moms, Jenny Ping & Dinny Willis, a special thank you for all of there support.

One more special thanks to Randy & Loretta Ferretti for building us the deck in front of the manifest and Mark Favereaux for building the freefall controlled turn trainer. It is people like this that help the DZ to be a better home DZ.

The Year in Review

We have graduated seven students, four through the AFF and three through the IAD programs. Of these seven, four have obtained their USPA "A" License. IAD Graduates are; John Dale A-051923, Michael Dale, and Mark Favereaux - USPA "A" License Pending. AFF Graduates are; Mike Czabator, Loretta Ferretti, Randy Ferretti - A-051839, and Chris Franke.

As most of you know, we have purchased our Cessna 182 jump plane this year. It was delivered to us in late May. We had it up and flying jumpers by mid June. Having our own aircraft has made life easier on us as well as allowing you all to make more jumps with us. We have had many request to name the plane. Some of the ideas that came up were; Yellow Bird, Yellow Jacket, Golden Eagle, Lemon Drop, Yellow Streak, Tweedy Bird, and Mellow Yellow. What do you think? Have ideas?

This year we held two Accuracy Scrambles, one in June and the other in September. On both Scrambles we had five teams participating. We are looking to host two more Accuracy Scrambles in 2008 as well as possibly having a 3-Way Scrambles. We wish to thank John Dale for hosting our first "Camp Out". It was very successful and full of jump stories. Many of our new jumpers got to meet, talk with, and listened to skydiving/rigger legend "Handsome" Dave DeWolf. If any of you have any ideas for upcoming events for 2008, please let us know.

The Last Upcoming Event

The last upcoming event we have planned before our 2008 season is taking a Wind Tunnel Road Trip to Nassau, NH. Our scheduled date is February 23rd. Our plan is to use a RV to transport those not driving. This should prove to be a lot of fun. So far we have nine people; M. Czabator, M. McNamara, C. Franke, P. Satre, P. Ruth, J. Dale, M. Dale, V. Scarcia & Vicky. So far all are requesting two 1 hour sessions and overnight lodging. Also some are requesting personalized coaching. The trip package price is still being determined at this time. Please let us know if you are interested in going on the trip by calling us at 610-683-5060.

Plans for 2008

Other than hosting two Accuracy Scrambles and a 3-Way Scramble, we may have the "Camp Out" once a month.

The first biggest event will take place on March 21st. Jenny Ping will be hosting a 60 Jump-in-one-day event to be conducted by her husband, Chuck McElwee. Chuck's plan is to make these 60 jumps in one day to celebrate is 60th birthday. We are honored that Chuck & Jenny have chose our DZ for this accomplishment. This event is also planning to raise money for a charitable organization. Details for raising money and for whom is still in working progress. Any ideas from anyone is greatly appreciated. We are planning to have two aircraft, media coverage as well as having a local radio station broadcasting from our DZ. There is a possibility that we will have skydiving equipment to raffle off.

We will be in need of some help to run this event; packers, rigs of 170 sq ft or larger, and sponsors. Let us know what you can do.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
